  • Free Expression Training

Found via Aussie UX Evangelist, Shane Morris, get free online Expression training from lynda.com.  The course covering the RTM version of Expression Blend looks good to me.  I'll have to get to it afterward.  Right now, I'm enjoying the WPF virtual bootcamp CD (Disc 3) that came with my MIX 07 goodies.  If you ...

  • Agency 2.0

Here is a part of the slide deck from Clement Mok's presentation titled ''Fumbling towards AGENCY 2.0''.  In this slide he contrasts between ''brick and motar'', Web 1.0 and Web 2.0

  • Fumbling towards agency 2.0

At MIX07 one of the sessions that I went to see was one by Clement Mok, titled ''Fumbling towards AGENCY 2.0'', it was a fantastic presentation.  I was looking at it from a software architects perspective and jotted this down in my moleskine during his talk. Clement Mok's presentation is great for us to understand how architects ...

  • Great MIX sessions today

So far today has been a hit with sessions.  I attended the Clement Mok did a session on Agency 2.0 which really had great inofrmation.  I'll post some thoughts later about his talk from a architecture viewpoint.  Then I attended the Microsoft Dynamics demo and finally! A LOB application that uses the power of WPF that doesn't ...

  • MIXing with Bunnies

Last night BarCamp got moved from TAO to the Playboy Club at the Palm.  It was a great mixer with everyone from Adobe to Microsoft to Metaliq having some interesting discussions.  I'd like to thank the organizers for putting it together.  We rolled out at about 1:30am in the morning which is 4:30 my time.  It was rough getting ...

  • Getting Unstuck

We just finished up the ''Getting Unstuck'' session here at MIX07 (see below).  One of the things that designers and developers may not realize is that they are both craftsman with a common end goal.  Please take a look at http://stuckunstuck.com/statuses/list to see this ...

  • MIX07 Keynote Band Info

Before the keynote there was a great band that was on stage prior to the keynote.  The best way to describe them was from a twitter post onscreen.  ''If Tom Waits and Onigo Boingo had a love child this is what that band would be.''  They're called ''Moonpenny Opera''.  If you're looking for there info here it ...

  • MIX 07 Keynote

I have to say that Ray Ozzie's keynote style is fresher than the ones that I've seen in the past.  One of the most interesting things I think is the architectural pattern of ''Software + Service Platform''.  I think that we'll see more and more LOB (line of business) applications use this pattern and if you want to see something around ...

  • Open the iPhone with Silverlight

While sitting in the keynote here at MIX, watching Scott Gu flip back and forth between a Mac and Windows, I thougth that using Silverlight would possibly be a great way to run app's on your iPhone.  It will be interesting to see what happens when the phone is out and what we can do with Silverlight by then.   Seanmix07

  • Here at MIX07

We're here at MIX 07 in Vegas, getting ready for the key note.  I will say that Microsoft does know how to put on a conference.  From SWAG to breakfast everything is pretty nice.  In the SWAG are thing like wristbands (ala ''live strong'') so that you can ''tag'' yourself.  They come in three flavors, business, development and ...
