Fumbling towards agency 2.0
At MIX07 one of the sessions that I went to see was one by Clement Mok, titled "Fumbling towards AGENCY 2.0", it was a fantastic presentation. I was looking at it from a software architects perspective and jotted this down in my moleskine during his talk.
Clement Mok's presentation is great for us to understand how architects will need to ensure delivery of products in a rapid new world of Agency 2.0. Tools, Frameworks and infrastructure must be there and at the ready. Think of systems design as a consumable commodity, the system as a tool for business. Architects should realize the outside business forces that effect software delivery, your governance needs, and patterns . Also be aware of software that is being used by your employees (blogs, youtube, tagging, etc) These activities will provide you with opportunities to create better software. (e.g. Tagging within a CRM application, internal blogs and wiki's, etc.)
With a Web 2.0 world, companies will need a partnership between their IT department (or an outside entity) and marketing department to deliver the new web and new experiences.
